THE LAST DAYS — LIVING FAITHFULLY WITHOUT FEAR

Key Scriptures: Matthew 24:4–14; 2 Timothy 3:1–5; Luke 21:28; 1 Thessalonians 5:1–6

Introduction

The Bible teaches that believers should be aware of the times in which they live. Jesus spoke about deception, wars, difficulties, persecution, and spiritual conditions associated with the last days.

But biblical teaching about the last days should produce readiness—not panic.

The Message

Jesus warned His followers not to be deceived.

Our responsibility is not to predict dates that God has not revealed. Our responsibility is to remain faithful.

The last days should encourage believers to pray more seriously, walk in holiness, love others, share the Gospel, and remain spiritually awake.

We should not allow fear of world events to become greater than our faith in God.

Christ remains Lord regardless of what happens in the world.

Lessons

  1. Do not become obsessed with predicting dates.
  1. Remain spiritually awake.
  1. Do not allow fear to destroy your faith.
  1. Use the present time to serve God faithfully.

Conclusion

We may not know exactly when every biblical event will occur, but we know that Christ has promised to return.

Therefore, let us live faithfully, without fear, with our eyes fixed on Jesus.
