THE WAITING SEASON — REMAINING FAITHFUL WHILE YOU WAIT

Introduction

Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of faith.

We often want immediate answers, immediate change, and immediate results. But God does not always work according to our timetable.

The Message

Waiting does not mean doing nothing.

A waiting season can be a season of preparation, growth, prayer, learning, and spiritual maturity.

Abraham waited for God’s promise. Joseph experienced years of difficulty before entering his appointed position. David was anointed king but still had to wait before becoming king.

God may use waiting to prepare us for what we are asking Him to give us.

The danger is becoming discouraged and abandoning faith because the answer has not come quickly.

Lessons

1. Do not confuse delay with abandonment.
2. Use waiting seasons to grow spiritually.
3. Continue obeying God while you wait.
4. Trust God’s timing instead of forcing your own.
