THE HIDDEN HEART — WHAT GOD SEES WHEN OTHERS CANNOT

Introduction

People see what is visible, but God sees the heart.

A person can appear strong spiritually while secretly struggling with pride, bitterness, jealousy, hatred, unforgiveness, or hypocrisy.

The Message

God is interested in the person we are when nobody is watching.

Our public behavior may impress people, but God sees our motives.

This is why self-examination is important.

We should regularly ask God to search our hearts. Are we serving Him because we love Him, or because we want recognition? Are we helping others sincerely, or are we seeking praise?

A clean heart does not mean a person has never struggled. It means the person is willing to allow God to expose, correct, and transform what is wrong.

Lessons

1. Examine your motives, not only your actions.
2. Do not seek human approval above God’s approval.
3. Deal with bitterness before it grows.
4. Allow God to correct what others cannot see.
